The Licking River
Falmouth, Kentucky, was originally called Forks of Licking. On March 1, 1997, the river rose 50 feet and took the town. A Kentucky State Police trooper flew over by helicopter and said, 'There is no Falmouth.’ It was days before my ninth birthday.
