A practice space for play, inquiry, and leadership – without extraction.
Creative Recess is not a content platform. It is not a productivity system. It is not a community built on urgency, optimization, or performance.
Creative Recess is a practice ecology – a set of conditions that make it possible to stay in relationship with creativity, responsibility, and possibility over time. Membership exists to hold those conditions.
You don’t join to get more information. You join to change your relationship to time, pressure, and participation. You join to practice the Infinite Game.
What Creative Recess Is
Creative Recess supports people navigating complexity — personal, professional, civic, creative — without collapsing it into false clarity or hustle-based solutions.
At its core, Creative Recess is built around the PLAY framework — Possibility, Leadership, Art, and You. That framework names what this work has always been about:
- knowing when to act
- when to pause
- when to play
- when to refuse
- and when to stop
This work is grounded in encounter over transmission, stewardship over scale, practice over performance, and play as ethical infrastructure. Everything here is designed to be inhabited, not consumed.
Membership as Thresholds of Proximity
Creative Recess membership is organized by proximity, not hierarchy. Each tier reflects a different relationship to:
- time
- responsibility
- community
- unfinished work
There is no “best” tier—only the right distance for where you are now. Choose based on capacity, not aspiration.
Open Door (Free)
Free · A place to arrive gently
A place to sign your first permission slip. The Open Door is for curiosity without commitment. You might be here because:
- something in Creative Recess resonates, but you're not ready to join
- you want inspiration without obligation
- you're lingering at the edges of play, rest, or possibility
- you want to see if the work is real before stepping in
OPEN DOOR INCLUDES:
- occasional public essays and Possibility Pages posts
- invitations to open Creative Recess sessions and public events
- early notice about Field Trips, gatherings, and experiments
No pressure. No conversion funnel. No urgency theater.
Just an open door.
Playground (Personal Practice)
$120 / year · A place to return to yourself
A place to practice PAUSE. Playground is a gentle re-entry space for people whose creativity has been overused, instrumentalized, or put on hold. This tier centers personal rhythm, interior life, and unmeasured practice.
You might be here if you:
- want to play without turning it into output
- are creatively tired or over-responsible
- want prompts and practices that support PAUSE — not more performance
- need permission to come and go without keeping up
PLAYGROUND INCLUDES:
- monthly Creative Recess sessions
- access to the Creative Recess Playground (prompts, practices, selected archives)
- monthly written invitations for noticing and reflection — the Pathways practice in written form
- optional community comment threads and light check-ins
- early access to pop-ups and seasonal workshops
There is nothing to keep up with. You are allowed to come and go.
Studio (Practice in Community)
$300 / year · Where practice becomes relational
A place to practice PLAY with others. Studio is a shared practice space for people actively applying creativity, leadership, and inquiry in the world. This is where Creative Recess becomes relational — held with others navigating similar tensions.
You might be here if you:
- facilitate, teach, lead, organize, or create in real contexts
- want language that honors complexity without abstraction
- value community that doesn't demand performance
- are ready to practice encounter, not just read about it
STUDIO INCLUDES EVERYTHING IN PLAYGROUND, PLUS:
- PLAY LAB — the primary practice container; arts-based inquiry, applied creative research, the problem-posing education that should have existed at every scale
- Circle — the encounter container; monthly shared inquiry space; twelve people in genuine meeting
- quarterly Creative Immersions — long-form, spacious workshops
- access to the full Creative Recess Library
- guest facilitators and creative residencies
- seasonal digital playbooks and shared practices
- optional small-group pods (self-organized, opt-in)
Studio is not about scaling yourself. It is about integrating meaning, practice, and relationship.
Field (Deep Inquiry & Stewardship)
$500 / year · The closest circle
A place to hold responsibility together. Field is a high-trust container for people holding responsibility — for ideas, people, institutions, or communities. This tier is intentionally small.
You might be here if you:
- are leading something that doesn't have easy answers
- are stewarding work that is unfinished, fragile, or ethically complex
- want proximity to thinking before it becomes polished
- are building something that requires encounter infrastructure, not just strategy
FIELD INCLUDES EVERYTHING IN STUDIO, PLUS:
- monthly small-group Field Circle with KP — twelve people in high-trust encounter
- quarterly 1:1 office hours — relational fluency practice in one-to-one context
- access to draft frameworks, instruments, and pilot materials — including early Reimagining Series materials
- early access to oracle deck ecosystem releases — the Emergent Deck, Shadow Edition, and Mycelial Edition as they develop
- invitations into Field Labs and experimental work
- private Field conversation space
Field is not about visibility. It is about shared responsibility.
How to Choose
Choose based on capacity, not aspiration.
Tier | If you're... | PLAY focus |
Open Door — Free | Curious, orienting, low commitment | Arriving — PAUSE begins here |
Playground — $120/yr | Returning to personal rhythm and practice | You — the whole, unperformed self |
Studio — $300/yr | Relational practice and shared inquiry | Leadership + Art — encounter in community |
Field — $500/yr | Stewardship, responsibility, unfinished work | Possibility — holding what could be under pressure |
You can move between tiers over time. Stopping, pausing, or changing your level of participation is respected.
An Ethical Exchange
Membership is not payment for access to a person.
It is a contribution toward:
- time to write, teach, and facilitate thoughtfully
- infrastructure that does not rely on ads or data extraction
- the Field Trip Fund — the creative mutual-aid model that redistributes access, resources, and imagination
- care for a shared creative commons
A Living Practice Space
Creative Recess is intentionally unfinished.
It will evolve.
It will be revised.
Some things will end so others can begin.
If you’re here:
- you don’t need to optimize yourself
- you don’t need to brand your creativity
- you don’t need to rush toward outcomes
You’re invited to practice:
play, inquiry, leadership, and care —
in good company, at a humane pace.
