Every space needs boundaries that protect its play. The Playground Code names the principles that make Creative Recess work: curiosity before critique, consent before collaboration, care before correction, and creativity before control.
It’s short, clear, and human — a guide for how we hold ourselves and each other accountable in a world that often forgets how to play fair. By reading, signing, or sharing it, you’re helping keep possibility in motion.

The Credo is our compass — the daily practice of liberation that keeps Creative Recess alive. It’s equal parts manifesto and mirror, blending the courage of conviction with the playfulness of imagination.
Brains, courage, and heart — they were never just fairy-tale virtues. They’re leadership traits disguised as archetypes, creative tools disguised as characters.
This Credo names what we believe:
That curiosity is sacred.
That clarity is freedom.
That creativity is medicine.
That community is the only way forward.

Creative Recess Principles
- Play: The practice of loosening certainty so curiosity, courage, and creativity can enter the room. Play is perspective, experimentation, and liberation — the opposite of perfectionism.
- Curiosity: A disciplined willingness to notice, question, and wonder. Curiosity is attention + openness; the habit that makes new futures possible.
- Creativity: The capacity to make, imagine, reshape, or reframe. Creativity is not output — it’s the ecological process of recombining what already exists into something more coherent.
- Story: The narratives, identities, and meaning-making systems we inherit, create, compost, and recompose. Story is how possibility becomes language — and how language becomes life.
- Identity: A living, evolving ecosystem shaped by experience, context, connection, and choice. Identity isn’t fixed; it’s relational, rhythmic, and always becoming.
- Ecosystems: The networks of relationship and influence we exist within — personal, relational, communal, structural. Ecosystems thinking shifts us from isolation to interdependence, from hierarchy to connection.
- Possibility: The imaginative, courageous orientation toward what could be — individually, relationally, and collectively. Possibility is a practice: envision, align, act, adjust, become.
How We Measure Impact
Impact is measured in how we move — and how we help others move with more clarity, creativity, and courage.
Impact is not:
